What is a Skin Lesion/ Lipoma Treatment?
Skin lesion and lipoma treatment refers to the surgical removal of abnormal or bothersome growths on or beneath the skin. Skin lesions may include moles, cysts, skin tags, keratoses, or other irregular growths, while lipomas are soft, fatty lumps that develop under the skin. Although most are noncancerous, removal may be recommended if the lesion is painful, growing, cosmetically concerning, or medically suspicious. Treatment is performed in-office using local anesthesia, though larger or deeper growths may require a minor surgical procedure. The removed tissue may also be sent for pathology testing to rule out malignancy.
