Thigh Lift

What is a thigh lift?

Thigh lift surgery reshapes the thighs through reduction of excess skin and fat. This results in smoother, tighter skin and improved contour. This procedure is particularly helpful for those who have lost considerable amounts of weight after bariatric surgery. In addition, as we age, gravity might result in a droopy appearance.  If diet and exercise alone have not achieved desired results, a thigh lift can help achieve a more proportionate look.

A thigh lift involves excision of the excess skin along the groin crease and possible liposuction to improve contour. In case there is considerable skin excess and fat on the surrounding areas, you may need to have an incision along the inner thigh in order to lessen the whole boundary of your thighs. The incision is usually done in the crease of the groin or along the inside of your thighs depending on the amount of surplus skin and level of laxity so that it will not be noticeable in a swimsuit.

If desired, a thigh lift can be done in tandem with other procedures to maximize results. For example, a combination of liposuction and thigh lift techniques might be best for your particular situation. Dr. Haque will discuss this with you during the consultation.

During an in-office procedure with minimal discomfort, radio frequency will be used so that the skin and tissue which holds the fat cells to your body will shrink to give your body a tighter, more contoured shape.  BodyTite and FaceTite can be used in tandem with in-office liposuction for even better results. it has proven effective due to the internal radio frequency waves stimulating the vertical fibers (fibro septum network- FNS) to ensure that the connective issues remain connected to these tissue elements to the skin.  This means that it helps tighten the skin and reduce fat.

Who is a Thigh Lift for?

Individuals who seek to improve the shape and contour of their thighs can benefit from a thigh lift. Those whose weight is relatively stable, but have disproportionate inner or outer thighs will particularly benefit from a thigh lift.  If you are not sure if you want the commitment of surgery but are still interested in fat reduction and skin tightening, you may wish to consider BodyTite for the thighs instead of a thigh lift.
