Chin Augmentation

Chin Implant or Chin Augmentation

The chin is an important part of the face and can change your whole look. If your chin is receding it could be due to underdevelopment of your face or the lower jaw. Because of this, you might get the illusion of a high up nose and bad neck outline. Chin augmentation surgery is often performed together with nose reshaping procedures or other neck lift treatments. This is for the reason that the right placements of a chin implant can proportionately restore the look of the entire face.

This treatment can be carried out by moving the bone frontward, or by placing an implant. You should get an implant procedure if your dental occlusion is standard and you have a receding chin. Implants are generally useful for chin and mandibular augmentation. The porous structure of the implant enables it to integrate with your tissue without the risk of the body refusing it with results of capsule formation which is sometimes seen with silicone implants. The implant will put volume into your existing chin by means of directly securing the chin implant to the bone. Implants are available in various sizes, enabling the doctor to pick a custom implant that suits your current bone structure.

We can help you choose the most suitable implants that are right according to your requirement. Every patient’s anatomy and needs are different so Dr Haque carefully examines every individual and prepares a customized surgical plan for each patient.

Chin Surgery / Augmentation Procedure

Chin augmentation is done through an incision beneath the chin or within the mouth. Space right on the bone is made and the implant secured directly to the bone. The treatment is carried out on an outpatient basis and can be done with either a general or local anesthesia.
