Arm Lift or Brachioplasty

Many people in Charlotte are unhappy with the appearance of their upper arms, especially with changes that can take place with aging or weight fluctuations. As people age, excess fat and sagging skin can accumulate in the upper arm area, an effect often referred to as “bat wings.” People who have experienced significant weight loss, including after bariatric surgery, may struggle with excess skin that remains even after fat loss.

An arm lift or brachioplasty can help people achieve slimmer arms with a tighter look, enhancing self-confidence, especially in the summer months. At Queen City Plastic Surgery, board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Enam Haque is highly experienced in the latest advanced arm lift procedures.

What Is the Arm Lift Procedure?

There are several options that can help people in Charlotte, NC, eliminate unwanted sagging or fat in the upper arm area. In some cases, people may opt for upper arm liposuction when they want to target small, specific areas of excess fat; a full brachioplasty may be a more effective option for people who want to improve the contour of the entire upper arm area and reduce excess skin and sagging. Dr. Haque will provide detailed guidance on the arm lift procedures that can help you to achieve your aesthetic goals.

The arm lift procedure takes around two hours and is performed at Queen City Plastic Surgery under intravenous sedation or general anesthesia. Dr. Haque will recommend the specific type of incision that can best address your needs. In most cases, these incisions are made on the inside or back of the arm, often beginning beneath the armpit. Your surgeon will remove excess fat directly or through liposuction before reshaping and tightening the supportive tissue of the arm.
