Arm Lift (Brachioplasty)…..what you need to know

A brachioplasty is an arm lift used to tighten both sagging and loose skin, removing pesky fat deposits that develop over time and improving the appearance of your arms.  While it’s winter now, this is a good time to get an arm lift because you can recover in time to bare your arms for spring and summer!

Is an arm lift right for me?

Do you have arms that have sagged over time?  Or perhaps you work out and have been able to tighten up everywhere but the arms?  This can be due to lost elasticity, weight changes or the passage of time.  If so you may be considering an arm lift and it can help you achieve the results you want!  The best results are achieved by non-smokers in good overall health with no serious pre-existing conditions.

Planning your arm lift

During your consultation with Dr. Haque you can get your initial questions answered while discussing your desired results from the procedure. Dr. Haque knows that each patient is unique so will spend the time with you to discuss the best options, highlighting any risks and all benefits. He will use this time to work with you to mark the areas to be worked on.

Dr. Haque will also discuss pre and post surgical preparations. This includes what you should and should not be doing pre surgery and how your family and friends can best support you after the procedure.

What will Dr. Haque do?

The procedure involves liposuction and skin tightening.  Dr. Haque understands your desire for minimal scarring so will strategically place your incisions before he begins liposuction to eliminate the excess fat, leaving some areas of fat to protect your nerves and arteries. Before closing the incision, Dr. Haque will pull your arm skin, trimming away any excess. You can also ask about BodyTite and see if that is a better option for you.

After your procedure

Dr. Haque will follow you post-surgery and answer any questions you may have. These follow- up appointments are important in your healing process and can help you monitor your progress.
