Improving my skin with CosmoPen (MicroNeedling or Collagen Induction Therapy)

by Anita Strickland, Front Office Coordinator

Why I was interested in getting CosmoPen

I have been feeling a bit self-conscious about some acne scarring on the sides of my mouth and wasn’t sure how to fix the scars.  I also have been feeling like my skin could use a boost and have some fine lines that could use some attention.  After hearing and seeing Sara’s experience https://qcplasticsurgeons.com/experience-microneedling-using-cosmopen/) with CosmoPen and seeing how great her skin looks and looking up reviews about it, I was ready to go!!! CosmoPen is collagen induction therapy, also known as Microneedling. This skin-rejuvenating procedure involves tiny needles infusing a solution in the top layer of skin to improve overall texture, appearance and stimulate collagen production.

What getting CosmoPen is like

I must say that when the time came and Dr. Haque said: “are you ready to get the Cosmopen done?” I was extremely excited and a bit nervous at the same time! Sara applied the numbing cream and off I went for a few minutes while the numbing set in. Wow, that cream really works….can’t say I have ever felt my face numb before! Before I knew it, I was back in the procedure chair and Dr. Haque started the procedure. At first, I felt nothing (thinking this is a piece of cake!) but then the intensity was turned up…yes, I did feel it then but I have to say it was tolerable and to reap the benefits…it is so worth it! After the procedure, it felt like I had a sunburn but honestly within an hour or so I felt completely fine…even though I looked like a tomato lol!

My CosmoPen Results

The redness went away and I was left with smoother, glowing skin. The appearance of the scars has gotten better and I have noticed an improvement in fine lines. I have also noticed that my skin is more even-toned.  Dr. Haque said that my skin will get even better and to be sure to ice it and use sunscreen. I can’t wait to see the continued improvements and go for my second session in a few weeks!  It takes a few treatments to really reap the results, but I am so happy with it already! ☺
