Lips

Many people in Charlotte may want the appearance of fuller, more supple lips to achieve a fashionable, youthful appearance. As people age, the lips can lose their fullness, or lines and wrinkles around the lips may appear more prominent. Lip augmentation can help to rejuvenate the lips, helping them look supple, pouty, and luscious. Whether you want a dramatic fashion look or a subtle enhancement, lip enhancement can help make your aesthetic goals a reality.

At Queen City Plastic Surgery, all lip augmentation procedures are performed by board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Enam Haque. His skill, training, and years of professional experience ensure that lip augmentation procedures are performed correctly and precisely for maximum effect. Dr. Haque can work with you in order to produce the exact results you desire, from a small enhancement to a larger augmentation. There are lip augmentation options that can provide a variety of temporary boosts as well as permanent plastic surgery procedures that can enhance the appearance of the lips.

How Does Lip Augmentation Work?

There are several different types of lip augmentation that can enhance the fullness of thinner lips, even out asymmetrical lips, or reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles surrounding the lips. One of the most popular forms of lip augmentation is long-lasting but temporary and makes use of dermal fillers.

Dr. Haque can inject FDA-approved dermal fillers such as Restylane®, Juvederm® or

Radiesse®. Restylane and Juvederm are FDA-approved dermal fillers that can rejuvenate and plump the lips for a natural, youthful appearance. They are comprised of hyaluronic acid, a natural substance produced by the body for supple, rejuvenated skin. Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers like Restylane or Juvederm produce exceptional, predictable results, especially when placed with the expertise of a board-certified plastic surgeon. You can expect your results to last for six to nine months.

These non-surgical lip filler augmentation procedures take place at the conveniently located offices of Queen City Plastic Surgery. You may receive a topical numbing agent on your lips to make the injection process more comfortable. Dr. Haque will then precisely inject the dermal filler to the areas of your lips that you would like to enhance, leading to plumper, more even, and more youthful appearance.

The entire procedure can be completed in around 30 minutes, over your lunch break. You can return home or even head to work after the procedure is completed.

How long does lip filler last?

Lip fillers last longer than other injectables, such as Botox.  You can expect it to last a few months to almost a year.  Factors that impact how long lip fillers last include your metabolism and how much movement you have in the lips.  Most of our patients come in for lip augmentation a few times a year.  Your desired look and degree of fullness sought after also influence how long filler will last.

What happens after Lip Augmentation?

After your procedure, you may feel some slight swelling or discomfort. An ice pack will help alleviate discomfort.  Dr. Haque and the staff at Queen City Plastic Surgery will provide you with detailed instructions to care for your lip enhancement for the best results. Avoid applying lipstick immediately after your procedure, and use a cool cloth to soothe the area. The results of lip augmentation are immediately visible, and your lips will soon feel completely natural after the healing process is complete. You might need a day or two to get used to your new look!
