Having a full, sensuous pout is an essential part of attractiveness for many men and women. Unfortunately, nature is not always so generous or kind. The aging process can also cause the lips to thin out. No matter the case, lip augmentation is a great way to achieve, or regain, the luscious lips that you are looking for.

Most types of lip augmentation are minor procedures that are not very traumatic to the skin and body. For example, Radiesse lip enhancement only involves the injection of a gel that triggers the body’s innate healing processes to naturally bulk up the lips for a more attractive and youthful appearance.

However, it’s important to understand the differences between the various lip augmentation procedures. This will allow you to make an informed decision about which particular treatment is right for you and your individual aesthetic goals.

Let’s look at three different types of lip augmentation that Queen City Plastic Surgery offers:

Radiesse Lip Enhancement

The active ingredient in Radiesse is something called calcium hydroxyapatite. This material consists of microscopic spheres that are mixed within a gel. Radiesse works by stimulating your body’s own natural production of collagen. Collagen is an important ingredient in soft tissue, such as your lips, that gives it much of its bulk and structure.

Radiesse injections should only be performed by an experienced and trained aesthetician, such as those available at Queen City Plastic Surgery. You can expect your results to last for a year.

Fat Grafting

One alternative to lip fillers is having your lips augmented using your own tissue. Medically known as autologous lip augmentation, fat transfer involves an in-office procedure performed under local anesthesia.

Before a fat grafting lip augmentation procedure, your Plastic Surgeon will harvest fat from your abdomen. They will then purify it and transfer it into your lips using injections. The entire process takes around 60 minutes to perform, and you may return home immediately after it is complete.

Allograft Lip Augmentation

If you like the way your lips look after a filler treatment but want your results to last longer, you should consider Allograft lip augmentation. The results of a cutting-edge AlloDerm procedure can last five years or more, helping you achieve beautiful lip volume that lasts.

Allograft involves the use of a tissue graft that is purified and processed to create a layer of connective fibers. It is commonly used to repair burned skin, as well as for supporting tissues following a breast reconstruction procedure.

An allograft tissue matrix will be inserted into both of your lips to increase their volume. After your procedure, your body’s tissues will naturally integrate with the implant, helping you achieve long-lasting results.
